Double Dipping

Logic has some areas of it’s interface that do double duty. This week's tip is a small and simple one; but valuable and useful none the less. An example of when double dipping is a good thing!

The scroll bars on the bottom and the side of the Arrange Window serve as expected. They scroll the display horizontally and vertically respectively. But at the tips of the scroll bars are small textured areas. These “handles” function differently. If you click hold and drag on these textured tips, the scroll bars serve double duty and function as zoom sliders. The bottom scroll bar tips zoom horizontally. And the vertical scroll bar tips zoom vertically.

Just a small example of when double dipping is a good thing. You scroll to where you need to get in the display. Move your mouse a tiny amount and go back for more - to zoom in on what you need to work on.
